The stainless steel tube can be classified into the following systems: Cr system (400 series), Cr-Ni system (300 series), Cr-Mn-Ni system (200 series), and precipitation hardening system (600 series). The 200 series features chrome-nickel-manganese austenitic stainless steel, while the 300 series comprises chrome-nickel austenitic stainless steel.
301301 stainless steel boasts excellent extension ideal for molding products. It can be mechanically hardened and offers superior weldability. Its wear resistance and fatigue strength surpass those of 304 stainless steel.
302302 stainless steel shares corrosion resistance properties with 304 but features higher carbon content for enhanced strength.
303-303 stainless steel is engineered for ease of cutting by incorporating small amounts of sulfur and phosphorus.
304304 stainless steel, also known as 18/8 stainless steel, corresponds to GB grade 0Cr18Ni9. It offers better temperature resistance than 304.
316316 stainless steel is the second most widely used steel grade after 304, predominantly utilized in the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in surgical equipment. The addition of molybdenum imparts enhanced corrosion resistance.
321321 stainless steel offers similar properties to 304 but includes titanium to mitigate weld corrosion risk.
400400 series stainless steel encompasses ferritic and martensitic stainless steels.
408408 stainless steel is noted for its good heat resistance but exhibits weak corrosion resistance. It contains 11% Cr and 8% Ni.
409409 stainless steel, the most economical model, is generally employed as car exhaust pipes and is classified as ferritic stainless steel (chrome steel).
410410 stainless steel, a martensitic (high-strength chrome steel), offers good wear resistance but poor corrosion resistance.
416416 stainless steel's processing properties are enhanced by the addition of sulfur.
420420 stainless steel, a 'cutting grade' martensitic steel, resembles the earliest Brinell high chromium stainless steel and is often used for surgical knives, achieving a very bright finish.
430430 ferritic stainless steel is used in decorative applications, such as automotive accessories. It offers good formability but limited temperature and corrosion resistance.
440440 high-strength cutting tool steel contains slightly higher carbon content. Proper heat treatment can yield higher strength and hardness up to 58HRC, making it one of the hardest stainless steels. Common applications include 'razor blades' and it comes in models 440A, 440B, 440C, and 440F (easy processing type).
500500 series - heat-resistant chrome alloy steel.
600600 series - martensitic precipitation hardened stainless steel tubes.
