The 200 series showcases chrome-nickel-manganese austenitic stainless steel while the 300 series features chrome-nickel austenitic stainless steel.
301Renowned for its excellent formability, 301 stainless steel is ideal for molding products. It boasts remarkable weldability and can be hardened through mechanical processing. Its wear resistance and fatigue strength surpass that of 304 stainless steel.
302302 stainless steel exhibits comparable corrosion resistance to 304 stainless steel. Thanks to its higher carbon content, it provides superior strength.
303303 stainless steel is engineered for ease of cutting by incorporating a small amount of sulfur and phosphorus, making it more machinable than 304.
304Commonly known as 18/8 stainless steel, 304’s GB grade is 0Cr18Ni9. Meanwhile, 309 stainless steel offers enhanced temperature resistance compared to 304.
316The 316 grade, second only to 304 in widespread use, is predominantly employed in the food and pharmaceutical industries as well as in surgical equipment. The addition of molybdenum endows it with a unique structure that resists corrosion.
321321 stainless steel shares similar properties with 304, but its titanium addition minimizes the risk of weld corrosion.
400400 series encompasses ferritic and martensitic stainless steel.
408408 stainless steel is characterized by good heat resistance and moderate corrosion resistance. It contains 11% Cr and 8% Ni.
409As the most cost-effective model, 409 is primarily used for car exhaust pipes. It's a ferritic stainless steel, also known as chrome steel.
410410 martensitic stainless steel is known for its high strength and excellent wear resistance, though it has limited corrosion resistance.
416By adding sulfur, 416 stainless steel’s machinability is significantly improved.
420420 martensitic steel, often referred to as 'cutting grade,' is akin to the earliest Brinell high chromium steel. It is also utilized for surgical knives and can be polished to a bright finish.
430430 ferritic stainless steel is widely used for decorative purposes, including automotive accessories. It offers good formability but limited temperature and corrosion resistance.
440440 stainless steel is a high-strength cutting tool steel with a slightly elevated carbon content. Proper heat treatment can enhance its yield strength, achieving a hardness of up to 58HRC, making it one of the hardest stainless steels. It’s commonly used for razor blades and is available in models 440A, 440B, 440C, and 440F for easy processing.
500500 series consists of heat-resistant chrome alloy steel.
600600 series is characterized by martensitic precipitation-hardened stainless steel tubes.
